Special cheers and shout outs this week to Jessica who will be running her first half!!!  You put in the work Jessica.  Have a great run this weekend, and I can't wait to hear back!!!

Question of the week:  I want to train for my first half marathon, what advice would you give?
Answer:  Hands down, the most important aspect of your training is your long run.  The weekly long run is the key to increasing your physical and mental endurance.  Secondly, make sure there are adequate easy or rest days between harder days so that your body can recover.  Hydrate before, during, and after.  And lastly, listen to your body - pay attention to aches and pains.

Tip of the week:  Aid station drinking...  Many refer to it as a "hook and pinch".  When you grab the cup from the aid station "hook" your pointer finger into the top edge of the cup and then "pinch" the cup, so it becomes like a spout.  It will help you get more of the fluid into your body and less onto you... and more quickly too!

Motivational Quote of the Week:

"Running is real and relatively simple...but it ain't easy."
